Camp toccoa at currahee
During WWII, Camp Toccoa functioned as a paratrooper training site for the unit depicted in the HBO series “Band of Brothers.” Camp Toccoa is being restored to celebrate the legacy of leadership of the men who trained there. Today, Currahee (stands alone) Mountain is a favorite hiking and rock climbing site.
CURRAHEE MILITARY MUSEUM
More than 18,000 young men trained as paratroopers during the early 1940's in Toccoa, men destined for the 506th, 501st, 511th, and 517th Paratrooper Infantry Regiments (PIR) which endured heavy combat during WWII. Today the museum contains an extraordinary collection of memorabilia from the period.
STEPHENS COUNTY COURTHOUSE
The Historic Courthouse was constructed in 1907, and was used as the official seat of government until a new government building was completed. In 2009, the Historic Courthouse was completely renovated, true to original construction. Certain county offices now reside there, but a visit to the old structure is certainly worth the time.
HISTORIC RITZ THEATRE
The Ritz Theatre was constructed in 1939 as a single-screen movie theater. Today, it offers affordable and quality entertainment on a regular basis, from film showings to theater, to live music. The Ritz installed a neon-lit marquee in 2016 and a state-of-the-art sound system in 2017.

Downtown features restaurants, antique shops, boutiques, and other specialty shops, and is anchored by City Hall, the Historic County Courthouse, and the Ritz Theatre.
At 186 feet high, Toccoa Falls is one of the tallest (taller than Niagara Falls) freefalling waterfalls east of the Mississippi. Located on the campus of Toccoa Falls College, an independent, nonprofit educational institution situated on a beautiful 1,100 acre wooded campus, offering a Christ-centered education.
Rose lane recreational complex
The complex consists of a football field, 8 ball fields, 3 tennis courts, 2 gymnasiums, a 1 ¼ mile walking trail, 24 hole disc golf course, childrens playground, a 20x40 therapeutic swimming pool, and extensive facilities for Senior Citizens.
Paul anderson park
Paul Edward Anderson was a native of Toccoa. He was a weightlifter, strongman, and powerlifter. He is an Olympic gold medalist, World Champion, and two time National Champion in Olympic weightlifting. A devout Christian, he and his wife, Glenda, later founded the Paul Anderson Youth Home in Vidalia, GA. The park is a tribute to his life.
TUGALOO BEND HERITAGE PARK
Tugaloo Bend Heritage Park is an 87 acre site located on the Tugaloo River. It is the site of Estatoe, a Native American (Cherokee) village, and subsequently the site of a 19th and 20th century operating farm. Today there is a pavilion, restrooms, picnic area, and walking trails.
Georgia baptist conf. center
The affordable place for Christian denominations and organizations to host meetings, overnight retreats, and banquets. The center includes 240 guest rooms, a 1,000-seat auditorium, a 300-seat chapel, 42 meeting rooms, coffee shop, snack shop, and a lake-view dining room.
TRAVELER’S REST HISTORIC SITE
Traveler's Rest is an early 19th century stage coach inn and plantation house located at the crossroads of King's Highway and the end of the Unicoi Turnpike. Visitors can tour the house and see original furnishings and artifacts. Grounds open daily, interior open Saturdays and Sundays.
Miles through time
Miles Through Time is a co-op style automotive museum. Vehicles are stored on consignment or have been donated as exhibits. Come enjoy the constantly changing selection of vehicles and automotive memoribilia exhibits.
The fastest 1,650 ft of dirt in Georgia. The high-banked, oval dirt track is the oldest operating track in Georgia. Races every Saturday night March through September. Special races are held at other times throughout the year. Check website for additional race times.
HISTORIC HOMES OF MARTIN
Ten miles south of Toccoa on Highway 17, Martin features many historic homes (private residences) which make for an interesting driving tour.
A 1200-acre, gated golf community with a 48,000 sq. ft. clubhouse, an amenity center with fitness center, tennis courts, and pool. The “center piece” of Currahee Club is a challenging 18-hole, Jim Fazio designed golf course. The club has been recognized as the 2014 Club of the Year by the Georgia Golf Course Owners Operators Association.
The Lake Toccoa Recreational Park is Toccoa’s premier public park. It features the Links at Lake Toccoa, the Pro Shop, which sells golf-related gear and membership opportunities, Ping’s Grill, a lakefront bar and grill featuring the best burgers in Toccoa, steaks, seafood, the largest craft beer selection in Toccoa, and wine, including Toccoa’s own Currahee Vineyards, and finally, Reflections at Lake Toccoa, Toccoa’s only lakeside event center.

The Links at Lake Toccoa is a classically-designed nine hole golf course that is newly renovated and features Tifeagle greens, a fully renovated clubhouse and grill, and access to beautiful Lake Toccoa.
henderson falls park
Henderson Falls Park is a 25-acre park, adjacent to downtown. This beautiful park is full of play areas, an amphitheater, tennis courts, picnic pavilions, a 20-foot waterfall, a covered bridge, and a nature trail. Henderson Falls Park is the perfect place for family reunions, company parties, class reunions as well as a family picnic. The children’s play area next to a small stream is a popular place for families to cool off during the summer months.
